WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY...

'We approached Stuart back in May 2020 seeking planning permission to build an accessible family home for my wife as she became paralysed from the chest down in 2019. The site was challenging as it’s within the curtilage of a Grade II listed house and also within green belt. We had approached several architects but nobody seemed to quite fit in with our expectations. As soon as we engaged with Stuart, we knew he was the right architect for us! Stuart and Amelia offered their skilful knowledge with an astute, friendly and approachable manor. They both spent a lot of time communicating with us and really pinning down our hopes and visions and making those into a reality. As there were many challenges as noted above, every step of the process was done so at the very highest of quality. We never felt as though we were hurried or our opinion wasn’t taken into consideration. Thankfully due to Stuart and Amelia’s excellent skill set and knowledge, we were granted full planning permission on our first application. The planning officer even expressed his personal praise for Wighton Architects which is very reassuring to hear. If you are considering appointing an architect for whatever work you’re undertaking, I wouldn’t recommend anybody else. Thank you Stuart & Amelia!'

JANUARY 2022

'We chose Wighton Architects after initial discussions with Stuart about our planned project. We spoke to several other architect firms and we were confident Wighton Architects could deliver a great design and achieve planning approval through their creativity and excellent knowledge of the planning process. From initial design proposals all the way through to getting planning permission they were regularly in contact to give updates and to answer our questions. The advice they gave us during the planning process proved invaluable. I would highly recommend Wighton Architects to anyone wherever you or your project(s) are in the country.'

NOVEMBER 2020

'Great service from Stuart and Amelia for our renovation project. We had numerous iterations of the plans before we agreed our final spec and all were worked through helpfully and patiently until we finalised a scheme we were happy with. Plans drawn up and submitted and building regs all sorted without any issues. Also very helpful with queries from the builders once they had started work. Would definitely recommend.'

APRIL 2019

'Working with Wighton Architects for our extension project has been a delight. Stuart and his team have always been readily available to answer any queries we have had. They have helped no end with our final design as well as expertly guiding us through all the stages involved.'

JUNE 2018

'After extensive research we appointed Wighton Architects for our renovation and extension of a 4 bed Victorian house. From the very start of the process, Stuart impressed us with his eye for detail and aesthetic consideration. He presented multiple concepts, all of which were well considered and met the needs of our family and 'wish list'. Once we decided on the design, he worked very well with the planning department in Waverley despite being based in Leeds and smoothly gained permission. He played a key role in appointing the building contractor and then as project manager throughout in collaboration with the builder. His approach meant that the timetable was kept on track and any issues with the building firm swiftly and amicably resolved. He brought the project in on budget which was impressive given the scale of work. I have no hesitation in recommending Stuart and Wighton Architects.'

APRIL 2015

'Stuart has been an absolute pleasure to work with through every step of my development plans. I have a grade 2 Georgian Vicarage that requires a sympathetic approach whilst looking to enhance for modern needs. Stuart did an excellent job in guiding me through this and bringing dreams to reality.'

JULY 2021

'I was really pleased with the support that Wighton Architects gave us in planning our renovations. The service was very professional, personable and efficient. Stuart worked with us to get the plans that we wanted and helped us secure planning approval for our home that is within Green Belt and in a conservation area. Highly recommended.'

JULY 2021

'Having been introduced to Wighton Architects via a recommendation from a highly successful developer working in the industry, Stuart and his team have far exceeded our expectations as a professional, sharp, friendly and well articulated Architectural consultant. Having taken on our project to obtain planning permission on a green belt strip of land, in addition to being a pleasure to work with, Stuart and his team were indeed successful in obtaining the planning permission we required. Thanks Wighton Architects!'

MAY 2021

'Stuart and Jo assessed our requirements diligently and designed and managed a renovation and extension project which sympathetically preserved our old house and created a contrasting/exciting new space. The end product has been admired by all whilst the project management efficiency through the planning and build phase were excellent, removing the hassle factor for the client !'

FEBRUARY 2019

'We utilised Wighton Architects for the complete renovation of our house in 2015/2016. We have nothing but praise for Stuart and manner in which he helped us realise the full potential of our home. Some of the characteristics demonstrated by Stuart which were valued by us include; an ability to work with the existing building, listen to our requirements and respect our likes/dislikes, acknowledge our budget and then develop an imaginative scheme which ticked all the boxes. He was able to strike the right balance between pragmatism and creativity. On a personal level, Stuart conducted himself in a highly professional and approachable manner. He kept to agreed timescales for producing documents, turned up to site visits on time and was always quick to respond to emails and voicemails. Even though we have finished using his services some time ago, he is still happy to answer any quick questions and offer advise. We would have no hesitation in recommending Wigton Architects to friends and family in the future.'
